There are many complex systems in Deep Rock Galactic that take some time to learn, so here’s a guide on how to promote your character.
While you can continue to experience what the game has to offer, at some point, you might have to promote your character in Deep Rock Galactic. This is tied to a class system that lets you level up and then proceed to promote your characters.
You need to put some time in and earn your promotion first before you are given the choice of doing it.
How To Promote Your Character In Deep Rock Galactic
You first need to level up your character. Once you have attained a level, you can get them to the next promotion. At the start, you might pick up four classes including Engineer, Gunner, Driller, and Scout. You can level up by completing the missions.
To earn them a promotion, you need to gain enough experience to level up to 25. Once you are level 25 in Deep Rock Galactic, you are given a new assignment depending on your class. This is needed to get the promotion and will feature four different missions, based on the four different classes.
Head to the Assignment Board in the Space Rig section to find these missions. Complete the objectives to unlock the option to promote your character. Each of the class assignments usually ends with a Mining Expedition and Point Extraction but this might differ depending on your starting class.
You can promote your character by heading to the Character Select screen and then finding the promote button from there. Make sure you have adequate crafting materials and credits to gain a promotion. You will end up resetting to level one but improve your overall rank in addition to various other perks.
