In Call of Duty, the progression system can be extended by prestige and other methods, so the max level isn’t as important. However, in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the max level system is taken to a new level. It combines the class prestige system with a new progression system that resets every few months. This makes it hard to pin down a solid max rank, as you can earn a lot of levels and rewards. Military ranks have a cutoff, but the seasonal ranking can go much higher. This guide explains the max level in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War.
What is the Max Level in Black Ops Cold War?
The max level in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is Level 55. But the journey doesn’t end after reaching level 55. Once you reach level 55 and earn more XP, you enter the seasonal leveling system and become Prestige 1. Once you reach level 55, everything will be unlocked, and there will be no need to start over from military rank level 1 when the season resets.
Seasonal Levels Explained
Seasonal levels are different from military ranks. After you pass level 55, the level system restarts at level 1, and you enter the season progression system. The maximum seasonal level in Black Ops Cold War is level 1000. Whenever a new season starts, the levels reset to 1. The game is currently in the preseason phase, and once season one kicks off on December 10, all levels will reset.
You earn a prestige key and other rewards after reaching every 50 season levels. You can earn three prestige levels each season: one prestige level is awarded at 50 level intervals, and after reaching level 200, you will earn Master Prestige. You can earn many rewards on the way to level 1000, but prestige levels only increase when a new season adds additional levels. Your level will reset to military level 55 every time a new season starts, and you’ll have to start the military level over again.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
