SEGA Confirms English Voice Cast for Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced the complete English voice cast for Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, set for release on June 5, 2025, on the Nintendo Switch 2. This marks the first time the game’s origin story will include an English-language dub.

The lead roles will feature Yong Yea as Kazuma Kiryu, with Topher Ngo providing the character’s singing voice, and Matt Mercer as Goro Majima. Other cast members include Kaiji Tang as Akira Nishikiyama with Greg Chun for singing segments, Risa Mei as Makoto Makimura, and David Hayter as Osamu Kashiwagi. Additional characters will be voiced by Alejandro Saab, Andrew Kishino, Howard Wang, Bill Millsap, Keston John, Eliah Mountjoy, Vic Chao, Jon Ohye, Nobi Nakanishi, Adam Gold, Imari Williams, Frank Todaro, Fred Tatasciore, and Paul Nakauchi.

SEGA has released preview clips highlighting the performances of Kiryu and Majima in English, as well as a new trailer featuring the theme song “Bubble” by Shōnan no Kaze. This marks the first time the track has been officially introduced in a Western release of the game.

Originally released in Japan in 2015 and in the West in 2017, Yakuza 0 serves as a prequel to the long-running Yakuza series, following the early lives of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima in the late 1980s. The Director’s Cut includes more than 20 minutes of new cutscenes and introduces a Red Light Raid mode, allowing players to cooperate in defeating waves of enemies.

Like other entries in the series, Yakuza also includes various gambling mini-games such as poker, blackjack, and slot machines that become available after progressing through specific story chapters. These betgames add an authentic casino atmosphere to the game’s recreation of Japan’s entertainment districts, though players should note that these activities use in-game currency and are purely for entertainment within the fictional setting.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 from June 5, 2025. SEGA has confirmed that pre-orders are currently open, though no details have been provided regarding pricing or potential regional differences in availability.
