Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Reportedly Delayed To 2025

A new report from a credible source appears to suggest that Konami has delayed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater to 2025.

Metal Gear Solid Detla: Snake Eater is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, currently being developed at Konami in collaboration with Virtuos. Like the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake, this also reimagines the base game in a brand-new graphics engine. While Konami hasn’t shown the gameplay from it yet, they have given a tease of the visuals revealing various environments as well as the opening of Metal Gear Solid 3 running on this new graphics engine.

The game was originally teased to have a launch date of 2024, but that might have changed now. The new rumor suggests that the release date of the game has been pushed back to 2025 at the earliest. While PlayStation did tease it as one of the games to launch in 2024, we haven’t heard any announcement of the game since then, and with no gameplay shown yet, it makes sense if the game has been delayed.

The leak also shows that Konami might have planned an announcement in the coming days. It could happen at the upcoming Summer Game Fest where many third and first-party publishers are participating including PlayStation.

There will be two different editions of the game including a Standard Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series S|X that will retail for $69.99, and a Collector’s Edition that will be sold for $199.99.

Konami is also releasing the remake of Silent Hill 2 on the PS5 and PC later in October. They confirmed its release date during a State of Play presentation by PlayStation where they shared more details on the game and demonstrated its gameplay. Given that they have just announced a major game launching soon, it is possible that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater could be delayed out of 2024.
