A remake of EA and Bioware’s 2009 role-playing game, Dragon Age: Origins, is currently in development, based on the latest rumor.

According to a post on 4chan (via), a remake of Dragon Age: Origins is in very early development at Bioware. It is mentioned that the game will be titled Dragon Age: Reorigins, and that it ill mostly be a 1:1 Remake of the original, much like like Dead Space. However, it will feature improved gameplay and branching decisions/storypaths for story elements that already existed in the original.

Additionally, the post mentioned that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is at a very advanced stage of development, and the current build is mostly missing some texture work. Based on the information shared, the game is currently scheduled for a Q2 2025 release. The post states that Bioware is taking its time with development, as it intends to impress audiences and sell a “dozens” of millions of copies. It is also mentioned that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf plays similar to Dragon Age: Inquisition albeit with improved combat and UI. Dreadwolf is said to mark the end of the “Dragon Age” franchise storyline.

The post also shares a few tidbits regarding the other title in development at Bioware i.e. Mass Effect 4. It is mentioned that the game is in pre-alpha, and a rough estimate for release would be sometime in the year 2030. With regards to the storyline, it is stated that only the “destroy” ending is considered canon. Mass Effect 4 is said to feature a brand new N7 protagonist, though Wrex, Liara, Garrus will make their return in the latest entry. Meanwhile, the Leviathans and Geth will be featured as the central antagonists.

Previously, details on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf’s gameplay revealed that its combat may be taking inspiration from Final Fantasy XV, offering a hack-and-slash experience that is unique from previous games in the franchise.
