Starfield Special Edition Xbox Controller Leak Surfaces on Chinese Internet

JoelBy JoelApril 3, 2023Updated:April 3, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

A potential Starfield special edition Xbox controller has been discovered in leaked images circulating on the Chinese internet. While the authenticity of the controller remains unconfirmed, its high-quality appearance has fueled speculation about whether it could be a genuine product or an elaborate fake. The leaked images can be seen below.

The design of the leaked controller closely resembles the official spaceship design featured in the game, complete with the game’s logo embedded on the battery compartment cover at the back. This could indicate that the controller is a special edition accessory or possibly part of a limited edition Xbox Series S/X bundle slated to launch alongside the game.

Starfield is a highly anticipated action role-playing game from Bethesda Game Studios, published by Bethesda Softworks. First announced during Bethesda’s E3 press conference in 2018, the game is set in a space-themed environment, marking the first new intellectual property from the developer in over twenty-five years. The game is scheduled for release on September 6, 2023, for Windows and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

The game’s setting, known as The Settled Systems, spans approximately 50 light-years from the Solar System. Taking place in the year 2310, the two largest factions, the United Colonies and Freestar Collective, engaged in a conflict called the Colony War. The game’s story unfolds 20 years after the war, as the major factions maintain an uneasy peace. Players will assume the role of a customizable character, a member of the space exploration organization called Constellation, with the option to play from either first- or third-person perspectives.
