Chucklefish and Robotality have announced the much-anticipated sequel to the award-winning turn-based strategy game, Wargroove. Titled Wargroove 2, the game will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
The game features a charming pixel art design and challenging turn-based combat and introduces a brand new story-rich campaign, an advanced tiered Groove system, an all-new roguelike game mode called “Conquest,” and a lovable cast of new commanders to try out on the battlefield.
The plot centers around an ambitious new faction that has unearthed forbidden relics with catastrophic consequences. Players will take on the role of new commanders and battle it out on land, sea, and sky using their strategic wits to wage turn-based war.
Wargroove 2 promises to be a thrilling adventure for both new recruits and veteran wardogs alike, featuring mysterious new factions and an all-new tiered Groove system that makes commanders more powerful than ever. The game offers three new campaign arcs that lead to a fierce conclusion, as well as a variety of multiplayer modes, both local and online.
In addition, Wargroove 2 includes five new unit types that players can master and level up by picking up special items, along with a new and improved map, campaign, and cutscene editors. The game also boasts a captivating soundtrack composed by Dale North, known for his work on Nintendo eShop, Disney Wish park, and cruise experience, River City Girls 1 & 2, RWBY Arrowfell.
Wargroove 2 is being developed by German indie games studio and turn-based RPG veterans, Robotality, who have worked in partnership with Chucklefish for many years on titles like Halfway and Pathway. This time, they’re taking the reins on the award-winning Wargroove IP, bringing a fresh perspective to the franchise.
